FAQ & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a mitzvah?
A mitzvah is a good deed or act of kindness. The word comes from Hebrew and traditionally refers to commandments, but is commonly used to mean any good deed.
Where is my data stored?
All your mitzvah entries are stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. We never upload or access your personal data. This means your data stays private, but also means it won't sync between devices.
Will I lose my data if I clear my browser?
Yes. If you clear your browser data, cookies, or site data, your mitzvahs will be deleted. We recommend using the Export feature in Settings to back up your data regularly.
What is the global leaderboard?
The leaderboard is an optional feature that lets you see how your mitzvah count compares to others around the world. It's completely opt-in and only shares your count and streak anonymously.
Why should I install the app?
Installing Mitzvah Tracker gives you a home screen icon, full-screen experience, and offline access. On iOS Safari, it also prevents your data from being automatically deleted after 7 days of inactivity.
